What is EMDR?

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, or EMDR, is a type of therapy that allows people to heal from past experiences that are still impacting them in some form. Not all EMDR experiences are the same.

I think it’s very important to say that not every EMDR experience is the same. While the EMDR method does have protocol to follow, techniques vary between practitioners. So, it’s possible that if you’ve had a bad experience with EMDR, it may not have been the right technique for you.

As a clinician who understands that seemingly nuanced techniques can make a big difference in the client’s experience, I am very open with my clients on what is and what is not working for them.

I have successfully worked with clients to turn past negative experiences into positive ones that yielded results.
